Financial astrology; a useful tool or just hogwash!
This has been an eternal question and will probably remain so. Astrology has traditionally been spread and sustained by believers, and similarly is the situation with one of its branch, the financial astrology.
Financial astrology deals with the issues of finances like business, trading etc. For financial market players, it answers some of the important questions like which markets and which instruments to trade in, whether to speculate or invest, good and bad times etc. Obviously, if correctly predicted, this can go a long way bringing about financial growth and stability.
The main point that again arises is how can one be sure about the predictions? Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to this. As I mentioned in the beginning, astrology sustains because of belief, and this is ironically its biggest disadvantage. Like religion, astrology is beyond questioning which is unfortunate. Questioning brings about the weaknesses in any field, and removing those only enhances the acceptance of that particular field.
Talking about my experiences in financial astrology, I can be sure that it does help a great deal, and it is not hogwash. However, it does have its share of misses too, and sometimes huge ones. Astrologers need to be careful in this regard, as a wrong prediction can ruin the life of a believer. Responsibility also lies with the believers, who must bring the wrong prediction into notice of the astrologer, because there may be many reasons for prediction to go wrong like erroneous time of birth. Simply moving to another practitioner will be futile exercise, which will only help the practitioners make more and more money at inquirers expense.
To non-believers, I would say that it is fine until astrology is ignored, but criticising it will serve no purpose. To believers, I would say that astrology is an asset, do not make it a liability. This happens when a person depends too much on astrology. Use astrology as one of the tools to improve your life; do not make it the habit that governs all your actions.
To sum up, how can financial astrology benefit a trader in stock or commodity market? Foremost is the knowledge about which area will be profitable, trading or investment. Further, which instruments like gold/gold stocks; oil/oil stocks etc will be profitable. Financial astrology will indicate a way, how one trudges that way will decide the final outcome. Financial astrology goes into many other aspects too like looking into financial condition and good and bad times. A weak financial strength will rule out speculation, unless horoscope supports speculative trades.
